Tom,

Why don't you tell us what your day job is? Maybe there be some 
skills from that which would be helpful to you? (Maybe not.) My 
current day job is as a piano technician and I use verbal skills in 
it which are just what is needed for being an attorney. If I read a 
lawyer mailing list for a couple  of months, then I'd be ready to 
take the bar exam. Are you a lawyer? Can you answer some questions?
