DC pads question

Hello Clyde,

We received a box of pads (about 100 pair of pads) from our vendor where the
pads failed to wick water. We contacted our distributors who opened all the
system boxes in their inventory and put in a second pair of pads with a note
saying to dispose of the other set of pads. Our distributors, based on our
dates of manufacture and their order pattern, felt that we had caught the
problem before it arrived in technicians' hands.

The pads look identical yet our version is superior in water wicking and the
other type is basically water repellant. Our vendor had an employee who was
supposed to test the material to verify wicking capability on each batch.
The employee failed to perform the test. (The joys of manufacturing)

We posted to this list at the time of the problem. I also think we
mentioned it in one of our technical newsletters. It occurred in the first
quarter of 2002 and we have only had one other pair appear in the field.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Roger
