I have contemplated making the jump to one mute and a tuning hammer for a few years. I seem to get great tunings with a stript; I guess I've intuitively adjusted in a more and more precise manner for the subtle stretches involved. But your experience makes sense to me. You've challenged me to to some tuings of great pianos in the "old school" way. Bill garlicj is an amazing tchnician, amazing teacher, and had a big effect on my approach to the craft when I spent 2 weeks with him in 1983. Thanks for your voice, Tom. David Andersen Malibu, CA
