I have done this a few times. I use the like wood of the mouldings and glue with "Titebond". Some times you need to get creative with the clamping, but usually spring clamps work just fine. A nice clamp that can be modified to "particular" shapes, is the olde spring type Clothes Pins. Yes, there is sufficient spring pressure.
