According to Randy's description, it seems that if you are actually bending the pin, then yes, it's bad for the block and the pin bushing, and probably the pin itself. I think that's why he calls it "tweaking" the pin. To give an indication of how subtle it is, all he does is tap the tuning lever ever-so-slightly towards himself. Just a tap. And it apparently settles the pin in its cradle very gently, bringing the string into tune (if you've done it right). But it doesn't bend the pin at all. He doesn't even recommend that you do it all the time. He says it's just something that you might want to consider. Experience can tell you if it's effective or not. Charles
