Well Terry and Newton had the fight answer as to why the hammers were
shaped lop-sided on the Beckstein. It was because of the small space.
They sounded just fine and worked, so I left them alone, but not after
some experimentation to check it out. No one warned me about the rocker
capstan adjustment though. Also the key-dip was a bit more shallow than
expected, but it again worked without flaw and let-off was good too. It
tuned easily and sounded great and the customer was very happy. It is a
very big sounding piano for its size especially the bottom octave, but I
wasn't really surprised about that looking at the extra length of the
strings. The end of the bass bridge was at the very end of the
soundboard. Thanks for all the help/responses!
