Touch up concert tunings

 I agree, and here in the U.K. concert tunings are
considered 'special' tunings and it is not unusual for
the technician to hang around waiting between
rehearsals, always listening and knowing exactly where
he is going to work on the piano when they break for
refreshments etc.  Also, we stay for the performance
as well, just in case anything goes wrong.  It is not
unknown, especially during a hot summer, for the tuner
to return briefly during the interval if anything has
altered.  I can remember a lyre problem developing
with the sustain pedal on one occasion and having to
fix it on stage.

Don't ever underprice yourself - if you quote a cheap
price you'll end up doing a cheap job.  (It is worth
putting that on the wall by the telephone!)
