Also the presence of moisture and or ionized salts = [sea air]. Install a heater bar and ground the harp to the electric = system. The lead is growing because it is combining with oxygen and = takes up more space. This only happens on exposed surfaces so don't = drill a hole in it you will only expose more lead to the air.
