This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Friends, I have totally regulated a Young Chang G-175 ( steamed, filed = , and dry ironed the hammers, totally transformed the tone). Turned into = a pretty nice used piano.=20 BUT, the thing was purchased by a recording studio on a fixed = budget. They loved the tone, the feel, etc. But we feel that the = action is just too noisy, for their use. I have pretty well determined = that the culprits are hard and indented whippen cushions (already = steamed them, turned out well, and much quieter, for awhile at least), = and the back rail felt. My question is, just how much key end contact do you need back = there, anyway? They have beveled off the ends of the keys, and they = have 2 1/2 inches of back rail felt, and the keys thump down on about 2+ = inches on the ends. Just how much width of back rail felt do you need = back there? =20 Need suggestions, please!! How to further quiet this puppy down? = Don't think it is the knuckles, as much as the whippen cushions, and = now, the back rail.
