I think that eventually the governments of various sorts will get together 
and clean up the Internet.

In the meantime, I think your best bet would be to change your email 
address, and resubscribe to the
lists you are on ....

and maybe you could install a firewall, and watch where you surf.

I just picked up an IRC/mimic virus somewhere, but McAfee caught it, and I 
got rid of it.
