I had a similar 'song and dance' routine with local prima dona.  It turned 
out to be
that her piano did not match the tape recorder. . .  Of course the tape is 
right !
By her account...1/2 step.  She still didn't believe me. Tape speed? are 
you kidding me?!

Too soon old, too late smart.
