Dale asked bout "voicing the plate" by Wally Brooks. Below is the description 
of Wally's class he taught at the Central West regional Seminar March 28 - 
April 1. He also taught a class on voicing the hammer, and then later held a 
hands on voicing class. 


Voicing the Plate: Wally Brooks RPT. A thorough discussion and demonstration 
of the cause and effect on tone by strings, bridges, action parts, etc., and 
the adjustments that the technician may do to a piano after manufacture or 
rebuilding. 

Voicing the Hammer: Wally Brooks RPT. A thorough discussion and demonstration 
of the process of putting a new set of hammers onto their optimum working 
state and the art of listening to tone.
