Thanks. >Lance Lafargue, RPT Hi Lance, The 'falsie' problem is ever with us, and depends on how bad, I have yet to hear a completely clean piano. You have checked all the right things. Again, wire kink's. depends on how bad. A slow bend from string levelling, seems to cause no problems. A slight false beat from a single string, could be preferable to a real wow from phasing, caused by poorly levelled strings. On the other hand obvious kink's from a screw driver at the bridge pins, from some over zelous idiot is another story. Have a great day.
