>...is the Conover action double repeating?
>Terry Farrell

Only when the player strike the notes twice :-)

>Does the wire act as a spring and thrust the jack back under the
>hammer butt with the key only partially returned to rest?

No, Terry. The upside down 'L' wires simply keeps the wippen assemblies
from falling away from the hammer assemblies when the action is removed
from the piano. Quite an ingenious design feature.

> Is this perhaps
>where Del's brother started to formulate some of his ideas? Keith, are you
>familiar with the Fandrich vertical action... What are the similarities &
>differences?

This Conover feature is not related to the Fandrich vertical action design.
That is another whole animal which, in and of itself, is very remarkable in
its performance.
