Kohler & Campbells are good for producing many mysteries ...! (Just my opinion) Sluggish dampers could be due to a variety of factors. 1] sloppy wire bending 2] seizure of the action centers 3] movement of the guide rail so the wires in the section bind against the holes 4] tight guide rail bushings 5] combinations of all of the above That's just for the problems limited to the dampers. Sluggish damper return can sometimes be traced to sluggish key return which in itself can have many causes. I've dealt with all of these problems in K&C grands. Z! So i tested another identical Kohler grand...SAME PROBLEM! But this time it was mostly in the bass section. I did discover the problem, and the remedy was pretty simple. Any guesses as to what was the culprit?
