Kevin, There is an article about dampers and their placement in The Journal, April 84, which stresses proper location relative to the 5th, 6th and 7th partial. Look it up, I've done some experimenting using this analysis, and it has paid off. A longer damper felt doesn't always improve things, but likely a tri-damper will. Ralph Thorn
