Sorry, Lance. I just saw the movie a couple of days ago and had a very different reaction to the scene. I was upset to see the father destroy that piano in a violent rage just because his son loved to play it. It had belonged to the kid's dead mother. The dad didn't want his kid to be musical. Wasn't manly enough. Crummy piano maybe, but it was all he had and was going to have. I hated to see that anger taken out on the kid and his piano! I thought the movie was OK enough. Wouldn't rush to see it, but the acting was good and the story fairly emotional. Great final scene! Liked it much more than the burning keys.
