Funny you should bring this up. After weeks of working on the soundboard, bridges, pinblock and such, I just pulled the action off the shelf today to give it a look-see! Pretty weird little felty things at the end of the shanks. I fixed a couple broken little jack springs, and repaired a couple things on the action frame. Going to refurbish the ivory keys - except for a few that are all chewed up, they are in very good condition - it appears the piano received little play. Those are sure the longest keys I have ever seen! I was going to give Ronson a call next week and ask them how they handle hammer orders. My understanding is that they are the only company that does square grand hammers. I have not dealt with them before. So, I'll just give 'em a call and get the scoop. Thanks for your interest. Have you rebuilt many squares?
