Keith: My mechanical "digital" mic measures to 0.001" directly ( digitally ) and to 0.0001" via vernier. Yes - that was to a ten thousandth of an inch. Just "slightly" more accurate than required for piano wire measurements or any other measurements that I can think of that would be required of a piano parts. Quick, and accurate time after time. No comparison to a caliper that gives 0.001" resolution. btw the case fell apart so I found a hard glasses case that fits it pretty well. fwiw. John Fortiner Billings, MT.
