This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment You know, I was just waiting for some smart-alec Baldwin comment. No it = wasn't a Baldwin, although I must say living in Baldwin country, I very = much like to tune Baldwins except for a very few tightly pinned examples = that seem to give the rest a bad name. Actually, I DID get the pins to move. It is just that it seemed to = require a lot more impacting than I would have guessed since these = things are supposed to reduce shoulder and elbow stress. I will stick = with it for a while to see if things get smoother. I admit that long ago I did a floor tuning on a Baldwin console that I = could see the thick shaft of my extension lever bending to where I = though it was going to snap. Either the lever or the pin should have = broken but didn't. I would like to see that piano today to see if has = become more managable over the years. I have one of those, and it has never failed to turn pins for me. Kevin E. With the weight all the way to the end I would bang this thing over = and over without the pin moving. This is not good. Is this particular = lever too light? Is the Mehaffey heavier?
