I think someone pointed out to check the archives. Most of what I had seen in the past is recommendations for massaging, etc. the string and tapping down on the bridge top. A few months ago someone - maybe Ron N.??? - suggested that most false beats appear to be caused by loose bridge pins. Since I read that, each time I hear a false beat (well, not EVERY time - hey I do a lot of Wurly & Kimball spinets!) I take my trusty little brass rod string massager and VERY gently press directly down on top of the forward bridge pin. Try it and see! I have found that at least 98% of the time 98%+ of the false beat is eliminated. Loose bridge pins. CA? - maybe. Epoxy with pins in - should work (I've never done it). Epoxy with pins out - guaranteed fixed - and presumably for a very long time (I have done it this way with excellent results).
