Hey Brian! So, ya headed for warmer weather??? If the area you are moving to is growing rapidly, or if there is a large transient population (military, etc.), you may find that you can develope a clientel very quickly. I think the single best marketing move I have made is tuning for the largest music store/teaching studio in my area. I tune the pianos for free and they refer all call regarding piano work to me. I get several new clients a week from that arrangement. I just made a deal today with the second largest studio in my area to do the same thing. Start with the tuning or anything the callers want done to their piano, and then after you get real busy, start turning away tuning work and doing shop work, etc. Terry Farrell Piano Tuning & Service Tampa, Florida mfarrel2@tampabay.rr.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brian Trout" <btrout@desupernet.net> To: <pianotech@ptg.org> Sent: Thursday, January 11, 2001 9:16 AM Subject: Need advice on moving and piano business...(long) > Hi List, > > I'd appreciate some input if you have a minute. > > It appears that I may be moving to another part of the country, far enough > away that it will basically be starting over.
