Another piece of advice I gleaned from a Kawai manual is: KWYADAWYADI Know what you are doing and why you are doing it. There are different ways of performing a task, some ways produce better results than others. Knowing why it is advantageous to perform a certain operation in a particular manner is what separates laborers, apprentices, journeymen and craftsmen. Know the rhyme and reason for your procedures. Become well versed. Start with the simple ditties before you delve into the classics. Ambition is a wondrous thing but pitfalls can be overwhelming. Don't be too hungry for the experience, you may end up eating your mistakes. Somebody stop me...
