Hi Glen,
              The finishing work of US produced pianos is far below the
standards of Japanese production.
The US produced pianos are in need of a great deal more prep work than the
product, we receive from Japan
Most pianos we have been receiving from the US are obnoxiously bright, and
uneven,mainly P22's.
Tuning and pitch is a far cry from the Japanese pianos. 
Having said that, there are no serious problems that a good dealer/tech can
not correct.
We were spoilt with the old P2's, just uncrate them, ease a few keys, and
tune.
