Actaully oil finishes look really nice when done right...
they are not all that durable tho. I have done up a couple
pianos with Danish Oil finish. Easy to do, looks a whale of
a lot better then a lack job with lots of dust. Its kind of
easy to get a nice antique look to the instrument as well.
