Piano Finishes

I service one old grand that the owner refinished with some type of rubbing
oil. It turned out quite well actually. The piano is very attactive. I,
personally prefer the, IMHO, more formal appearance, of a grain-filled
laquer finish. The exterior of the piano case is furniture - it can be be
finished as any other piece of wooden furniture. In my opinion, the finish
used is strictly a matter of personal preference.
