     Just for the record when any of us refer to grain angle in a =
soundboard could we specify where it is we are measuring that from so =
all can be clear as to intended meaning   =20
      I.E. I always measure off the spine.=20

     If your talking 60 degrees off the belly and not the spine that =
translates into something close to 40 or 45 degrees measures off the =
spine if I,m thinking straight.=20
    Would you mind clarifying=20

Off the spine? What do you mean by the 'spine?'

I measure off the stretcher (which is not always parallel to the =
bellyrail) from the left, or bass, side. That is, my 60=BA is 30=BA off =
perpendicular to the stretcher. It may or may not be 30=BA off the =
bellyrail.
