Tuning lever heads

I agree that it makes sense to keep the hammer head as compact as is
possible. But once-in-a-while I need to put a longer tip on mine. Whenever I
do, and then I am able to go back to the shorter one, I get this feeling of
"boy, the taller tip felt nice - I wonder if I should use it again, even if
I don't really need it?" I guess my point is, if it feels good, and you get
good tuning results - who cares what logic says - if a six-inch tip works
and feels good, then do it!
