Not lower on the pin because as the board rises and puts more tension on
the string and bearing on the bridge top, the bridge is getting taller too
and pushing the string up those angled pins, not only further increasing
downbearing and tension, but also forcing it to take a longer path across
the bridge, "amplifying" the tension increase. No trick, just a long
overlooked factor.
