"Standards" stranded in isolation

Good "standards" are moving targets, hopefully going higher and higher.

Before attempting to "fix" someone else's mess you must take a lot of
measurements, drip, hammer height, bore distance, touch weights, pictures, lots
of pictures (before and after), let-off, drop, jack position(s), on and on and
on.

There are minimum standards of workmanship, functionality within 'normal'
parameters. Someone pays for a front end job the car should track straight and
true.

I think you would have found that on this piano the bore distance was too great,
that being the case no amount of regulation will "fix" the problem. Bore
distance is critical, very critical, for proper action functioning.

I hate fixing other's messes and I hate spending a person's money twice. We all
have made mistakes in the past but considering the knowledge based this list
represents there is no excuse for doing substandard work.

I hope this works out for the best for you and the customer.
