Small piano designs that try to pack a lot of stuff into a small package will have this. I'm sure that even with the cramped quarters, better alignment/spacing could have avoided the occurrance. I have not noticed any significant trouble tuning because of that. Just a good indication that you are working on a small, cheap piano.
