Troubleshooting Vertical problem

Also check to see if the bridge cap in this area possibly separated from the 
bridge foundation.  This just happened to one of our Hamiltons in a classroom 
that is subjected to vast fluctuations in temperature and humidity.  When I 
started tuning the piano, as soon as I hit the first bass string, I noticed 
it was virtually dead......checked the bridge....and sure enough the cap had 
peeled up.  Good luck.
