   Yes,  I have seen breakage in that vintage, but also on much younger 
pianos.  These had been tuned a lot, rusty wire, one replaced, etc.  The 
amount of material left after the holes were drilled seemed to be less, but I 
don't know for sure. 
   This being a full rebuild (except for the soundboard, which sings), I 
don't mind replacing the agraffes,  I just don't want to do it with what is a 
very poor thread fit.  Piano-tek says they have the full size 7/32" on 
theirs.
