Hi Joe
It is always possible that something else is going on but
I did try my best to survey the situation to the best of my
ability. This is an affluent neighborhood with maids and all
but the piano didn't look that clean.:) But as I have found,
thru years anything is possible. Like the guy I had who removed
the plate bolts to have them plated while the piano was strung.
P.S. He is not dead

There may be something else going on here. Several years ago, I heard of a
situation, where the client kept the piano immaculately clean. Each time the
tuner came to tune, the pins were looser! Eventually, the piano was
untunable. The tuner found out that the client was spraying "Pledge" around
the tuning pins to keep it clean!!!!!!!!!! "Pledge" has silicone in it. The
piano had to have a new block, at the clients expense.
Regards,
Joe Garrett
