CA and Bridge Pins

Question about CA on old beater upright bridges:

Has anyone tried slacking and pulling off the wire, and adding CA,
but not tilting the upright?

Suppose, for an individual miserably beating note, one pulled the
wire off the bridge, applied just a drop or two at a time to the
area probably riddled with tiny cracks, so that it wicked in?

I could see holding a shop towel under the bridge, just in case,
and then adding a little drop of glue, watching it wick in, adding a
little more, till the area seemed reasonably saturated. Wiping off
the area after a few seconds, maybe breathing on it or rubbing it with
a little white glue to set it up, and then replacing the string.

The goal would be to fix some of the worst offenders in
just a few minutes, without the exertion and time of tilting.

I have the perfect candidate, an old Starr upright with some of
the most miserable false beats I have ever heard, and practically
no tuning stability at all. Any caveats, folks?
