Hi Linda When I was working in China with the Hua Pu Piano Factory in Chang Ping, an inventor there also built a piano with two soundboards. The second was in the treble and was attached to the first at points on the soundboard and bridge. It did give a better tone to the piano but then again maybe the piano was built with more care.
