Keyboard Technician

School of Music

University of Kentucky

 Duties:             The Keyboard Technician is responsible for the =
regular tuning,, maintenance, repair, and regulation of all acoustic =
pianos in the inventory of the School of Music and for maintenance of =
the pianos in the Collegiate/Corporate Loan Program.  The Keyboard =
Technician is also responsible for the instruments in the primary =
university performance venues, the Singletary Center for the Arts and =
Memorial Hall.=20

The Technician maintains an accurate inventory and maintenance and =
repair record for each instrument and is responsible for moving or =
supervising the moving of all keyboard instruments.  The Keyboard =
Technician will also be responsible for the major overhaul or rebuilding =
of instruments as time and funding allow. =20

Qualifications:    The Keyboard Technician will have technical training =
and demonstrated professional experience.  Experience in a collegiate =
environment with high performance standards and expectations is =
preferred.  A degree in music is helpful.  Preference will be given to =
persons with training and experience in the area of pipe organ =
maintenance as well.  Preference will also be given to technicians =
registered by the piano technician's guild. =20

Compensation: This is a 12 month, full time staff position.  Salary will =
be commensurate with training and experience.  The University has an =
excellent benefits package including health insurance and retirement =
package. =20
