Sorry for all my political comments. I believe that it was Alex De Tourcaville (sic) that said "When the people can vote themselves a pay raise, then Democracy is dead." By the way, last night I saw the musical "Ragtime". God, it was so good. I highly recommend it, along with E. L. Doctorow's book, on which it was based. It's always been my favorite. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Glenn Grafton" <gleng@fast.net> To: <pianotech@ptg.org> Sent: Wednesday, November 08, 2000 8:28 AM Subject: Re: OH H A P P Y DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > >Happy -- _not_ > > > >There's a recount going on ... whoever wins, they cannot by > >any stretch of the imagination think they have a mandate. > >Well, it's hard to guess what Bush will do when he tries to > >think. > > > >Even if Bush wins, it was because Nader handed him the election > >on a plate. > > > >Actually, the only consolation I can find is that the > >turnout was so high, and Congress is so evenly matched > >now. > > The reason Gore had as high of votes as he did is due to the fact that > people are selfish. > Retired people were told lies that if Bush was elected their social > security would go away. > Minorities voted for Gore because they thought the Democrats would give > them more $$. > The teachers voted for Gore because Gore is beholden to them and wants to > continue to pump more money to teachers, is against vouchers (read > competition), etc. > > If Bush is elected we'll get to see that he is a man of his word and the > scare tactics used by Gore were unfounded. > > Fingers crossed. > > > Glenn Grafton > Grafton Piano & Organ Co. > Souderton PA > http://www.dprint.com/grafton/ > gleng@fast.net > 800-272-5980 > > The box said "Requires Windows 95, or better."
