Polita steel polish is an electrotype eraser made by Eberhard Faber, No. 1045 and says Made in U.S.A. I still have some pieces. These erasers are grey, hard rubber with tiny, shiny specs in them. I have used Scotch Brite pads to clean strings, but they leave dust on the soundboards. I suppose one could also use 600 grit sandpaper to clean strings. Carol Beigel, RPT Greenbelt, Maryland
