Brian, I have only been in this business for a year so do not have lots of experience. I am however a retired firefighter. I did not retire from choice, but OR-OSHA did not like my asthma history. Unless you are having emotional, coping troubles that can't be dealt with by competent counciling I would try to stick it out until you are at least eligible for early retirement. In the meantime work at building a clientele list and learn as much as you can. I do not know about you but at 51 next week I am to young to be retired. At the same time 51 is to old to be fighting fires anyway. Additionally tuning and repairing pianos is a kick!! Terry Jack Eugene OR Chapter
