Susan,

As you now know these are available from Steinway. Finished or unfinished
and in a variety of woods. But ....

They will come long and you shouldn't expect to be able to use measurements
from any other piano to determine the length of the sticks you will need.
They will all be slightly different. In fact, each of the two you need may
well be slightly different.

So, to determine the proper length for each position the lyre and lock it
solidly in place. Use a pair of storyboards to determine the actual length
needed for each stick. The best storyboards for this purpose are special
made from two 18" (+/-) pieces of 1/2" dowel trimmed flat where they
overlap. Use a piece of tape on one to avoid placing the marks directly on
your nice new storyboards. You need to use enough pressure on the
storyboards to be sure you have all the slack taken up and to be sure each
end is solidly seated in its hole or socket.

Regards,

Del
