jumpy strings?

Greg,

Been dere, done that. :-) You've been given some great advice. My small
contribution is to recommend that you take their advice in this order:

Take Ed's suggestion first. Order the proteck and try it first. If the
problem is as Ed suggested, then the proteck will resolve it for you almost
as soon as you apply it. This is the easiest and fastest approach.

If proteck doesn't work, then try Roger's suggestion of popping the string
at the bearing points. Second easiest.

If neither of these work, try Jim's suggestion. Lower the string(s) and,
hopefully, when you pull them back up you will have repositioned the string
in the agraffe. Just remember this process will destabilize the notes and
you will need to restabilize them. A little more work, but gives super
results.

If none of the above works, take off the old string, ream the agraffe, put
on a new string, and go forth!
