Hi John,
             I got one of those Samsonite luggage carriers for hiking
around the University, Nice telescopic handle with fairly large (6")
diameter wheels. It also works fairly well on packed snow getting from the
parking lot to the building. The whole thing collapses down and will not
take up too much space in your BOOT. Check out the good specialty luggage
stores.
