I also tune with plugs every time. I think I can hear better with plugs than
without because ear fatigue is reduced. After tuning the entire piano. I go
back and verify each unison without plugs.

I have observed that much stretch difference in the way I tune aurally and
the average FAC tuning. I *tend* to stretch more, but with testing, I rein
it in.
