I've had a 1887-89 Steinway Upright in my possession since January 1999.
It has the original ivories and ebonies. With the exception of
approximately 4 new hammers assemblies I replaced, it almost belies
description the sound it produces and the way it plays with its original
parts.

Some pianos will never die being more than the sum of its parts.
