<< Just played Gershwin's Preludes the other day - after tuning my own piano
with EBVT - these pieces have "life."

My question is this: How many tuners on this list actually play piano at a
proficient level (definition: Bach Prelude & Fugues, Beethoven Sonatas,
Chopin, Liszt, Brahms to start) If you do, have you actually taken time to
play different repetoire, from Bach to Cage on a Well-tempered piano?

I have found the only thing I haven't liked as much (not by much) on a
Well-tempered tuning are some quartal voicings for jazz piano. Maybe I'll
find more in the future. Otherwise, the Baroque, Classical and Romantic
repetoire I like to play now has soul. Even 20th century's Keith Jarrett's
Koln Concert is sounding better. I thank Bill for enhancing the music in my
home and for my customers in the future. >>

Thanks so much for your efforts. The thing is, I always know what the
results and reaction to them will be, that's why I have used it as my primary
and default system of tuning for some 8 years. It has everything Ed Foote
says he is looking for in a temperament and more, much more. But you can't
tune it using an FAC program.

Some things in life that are really good can't be had with shortcut methods.
The EBVT cannot be tuned with any FAC type program, at least not until ETD
makers come up with a calculation that will do what aural skills can do so
naturally and so easily and, I might add, consistently. The aural
instructions are as easy as pie but Jay is one of the few people I know of
who has tried to follow them. All others have immediately tried to convert
it to an FAC type program. It won't work.

The challenge is yours. The information on how to do it is as free as the
air is to breathe.
