Sore Thumb

Thanks to all who responded and offered advice regarding my sore thumb.

I had an appointment with the doctor yesterday at 4;30 preceded by a 2;30 appointment with a colorectal specialist down the hall. (nothing to do with where I kept my thumb) By 3;30 I was anxious and early for the thumb appointment but they weren't ready for me. A polyp or two short, I was also short on time (?#2), I returned home.

Funny, the thumb hasn't hurt much since. Perhaps my senses were diverted. Of course, I didn't work today, so the rest was O.K. I think the thumb pain was caused from heavy use in octave and tenth playing as I am right-handed, but I have since switched to right hand use on those notes. I believe a permanent solution lies in sending my SAT II back for repair as I've been without it for over two years. The use of the SAT will greatly reduce octave and tenth playing with the left hand.

Now, just to back up to the colorectal thing in closing, a rectal and large colon examination (colonoscopy) is the only way to detect the probability of colon cancer before it's too late. "Most colon cancer can be prevented."-- (Advice from the Rudd Clinic, A Guide to Colorectal Health-- 1997). Polyps most always result in cancer. Their timely removal prevents it. Anyone 40 or over (male or female) shoud look into this. This is something that ozone won't cure. :-)

As for my thumb.......?.........?........?

P.S. Most of you realize I'm a light-hearted, fun loving kind of guy. When I'm serious, it's hard for many of you to take. But, I'm serious when it comes to colon cancer prevention. (I can't be serious about lung cancer, 'cause I smoke.) I'll be glad to anser any colon cancer prevention questions privately. J.L.
