Kristinn Elton owns a Yamaha with a Disclavier which he takes with him on tour. (Maybe that only applies to his US tours, I'm not sure about that) So what you're hearing is not an electric piano, but the Yamaha with programed accompaniment from the Disclavier. I never saw the show but I was at a soundcheck recently and it sounded great. He does have his own technician from Wisconsin that travels all over with him also. He's not currently a member of the PTG. He has graciously agreed to give me some input for an article I am submitting to Keyboard magazine about Piano 300. Which brings me to another point! At a recent PTG Convention, I got some valuable opinions promised to me by various well respected techs, including Randy Potter and LaRoy Edwards. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts whatsoever from any of you fine people to include in the article for submission. Any interesting perspectives on what the piano tech's role has been from 1700 to 2000 concerning any aspect of the piano, be it 1 sentence or 10, is certainly welcomed. Credits for each contributing technician will of course be given along with your quote or idea. Thanks.
