Hi Doug,
             I'm glad to see you are approaching the pian in a holistic
manner,
keep doing it you will become sucessful in this business.
Your error if you can call it that, is doing some service with out prior
appproval, you don't know the family budget constaints.
You did the honorable thing by offering to waive that portion of the bill. So
overall, you did very little wrong, just chalk this one up to a life
experience
lesson.  Voicing with out the customer present can be a dicey game, so be
careful.  Your ideal tone quality may not be the customers.
