String splicing

In my experience with night club pianos, I could more times than not get
a new string (plain wire) stable in 2 calls, often that meant with in 5
days. Pull it
no more than 1/4 tone sharp (10-15 bps) (if necessary 3 or 4 times during
your call) and if still sharp on the next call, it is ready to tune. ---ric
